Paints for your home come in a wide variety of colours and finishes and we can help you with your painting projects from simple paint refreshes to complete colour changes.

Your choice of wall paint should reflect on the area it is to be in. The most common paints are:

• Matt. This paint gives a low shine 'flat' finish. It is ideal for ceilings, but can scuff easily so is recommended for low traffic areas. Due to its low shine it can be used for covering imperfections on walls.
• Silk. This paint can be wiped and has a higher sheen than a matt finish. As a result this finish can draw attention to wall imperfections, but it is suitable for high traffic areas such as hallways.
• Tough and Durable. These paints can be wiped, and some can even be scrubbed. They are perfect for those who like the matt finish and have children or pets and for high traffic areas.
• Kitchen and Bathroom. These paints are formulated to withstand the high humidity that is found in kitchens and bathrooms. They have higher moisture resistant properties than standard paint, and usually have a high sheen finish. Standard emulsion can peel or flake, and in some cases hold mould, if used in kitchens and bathrooms where there is little ventilation.

Interior mouldings add character and style to your home. whether you would like to add new door architraves, cornice or skirting to your home, or would like your existing mouldings refreshed with a new lick of paint, we can help you achieve that decorative look you're after. Your mouldings can be painted in your choice of gloss finish, or for natural wood mouldings, they can be stained to enhance the woods natural grain.

As doors are frequently used throughout the day, they can start to look dull and worn with the constant use. A simple paint refresh can brighten up your doors.

 Changing the handles can modernise your hardware,  and adding locks can improve your privacy and security. With use hinges may become worn or bent, and we can attend your property and replace these if needed.

If you feel your doors are past their lives, we can install new doors in your property. We have experience in fitting luxurious solid oak doors  through to budget friendly doors for rental properties. 

Removal of old wallpaper is a tedious job, but Rhodes and Leak can take that job off your hands as part of our decorating service.

After removing the old wall coverings we will also prepare your walls ready for decorating by filling holes and sanding surfaces, as well as any repair work that may be required, ensuring your walls are ready to be painted or papered.

From time to time cracks and holes can appear in our walls and ceilings. They can look unsightly and unattractive, however they can usually be fixed. 

• Cracks. This can be down to natural house settlement, if you've recently had plastering work done, or fluctuations in temperature or humidity. After we have assessed the crack, we  will repair and finish the surface
• Holes. As well as cracks, holes can also look unsightly.  Accidents happen, but, if done correctly, once repaired you would never know the hole was there. If you have a door handle that has put a hole in the wall, Rhodes and leak can repair the hole, finish the wall and install a door stop to prevent reoccurrence.
• Water stains. If you have had water damage, then you may have water stain on your walls or ceilings. We can treat, seal and paint these unattractive stains , leaving your walls and ceilings blemish free.
